The "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology" Republican State Enterprise of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 2, 2020 No. 639 "On some issues of republican state enterprises under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan". The founder of the Enterprise is the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the Company's activity is:

participation in the implementation of state policy in the field of technical regulation, ensuring the uniformity of measurements and in the field of standardization, coordination of standardization and ensuring the uniformity of measurements;
participation in the implementation of works on the development and improvement of the state system of technical regulation, standardization and ensuring the uniformity of measurements;
ensuring the uniformity of measurements in the republic by improving the technical (reference) and regulatory framework;
conducting scientific research to obtain reliable measurement results;
carrying out works on information service and metrological support of enterprises and organizations;
training and advanced training of personnel in the field of metrology;
project management and digitalization of processes in the field of technical regulation, ensuring the uniformity of measurements and in the field of standardization

The company carries out the following activities:

development of fundamental national standards, national and interstate standards included in the lists of standards for technical regulations as interrelated, and recommendations for standardization; examination of draft standardization documents and amendments thereto;
analysis and systematization of standardization documents in the context of priority industries;
creation, coordination of activities and liquidation of technical committees for standardization, updating of the composition of technical committees for standardization and standardization facilities assigned to technical committees for standardization;
participation in monitoring in the field of standardization;
participation in the official publication, distribution and publication of normative technical documents and standardization documents, as well as information indexes of standards and catalogs;
formation, maintenance and support of the unified state fund of normative technical documents, the depository of classifiers of technical and economic information, as well as the system of cataloging documents on standardization;
participation in the organization of training (training) and advanced training in the field of technical regulation, metrology and standardization;
maintaining the register of the national standardization system of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
ensuring the development of standardization documents (including translation) in the state and other languages as part of the implementation of the function of the National Standardization Body;

verification of the correctness and validity of registration of vehicle type approvals, chassis type approvals, type approval messages;
formation and maintenance of a unified register of issued vehicle type approvals, chassis type approvals, vehicle design safety certificates and registered notifications of cancellation of documents certifying compliance with the requirements of the technical Regulations of the Customs Union "On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011), as well as certificates of conformity for vehicle components manufactured in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
assignment of international identification codes to vehicle manufacturers;
provision of innovative and investment projects aimed at the production of products with increased safety indicators, corresponding to national standards through their development;
conducting scientific research, providing scientific and methodological assistance to organizations, institutions, enterprises and other individuals and legal entities in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;
organizing, conducting and participating in comparisons of the results of verification, calibration of measuring instruments and interlaboratory comparative tests;
carrying out work on advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements;
creation, improvement (modernization), storage, application and maintenance of state standards and standards of units of quantities;
creation of systems for transmitting unit sizes, reproduction and transmission of unit sizes from standards to standards and measuring instruments of legal entities and individuals;
development and implementation of standardization documents in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements, including testing programs and metrological certification of measuring instruments, testing equipment certification programs, measurement uncertainty assessment methods;
production, sale of manufactured measuring instruments, repair of measuring instruments;
production and sale of manufactured standard samples, certified mixtures and calibration gas mixtures;
